For the four generations we have been in business, we have been striving to provide our customers the best quality service possible to gain their full satisfaction. And they've shown their appreciation by coming back to us repeatedly.
For most people, maintenance and repair is not fun nor convenient. So we want to make the process as easy, safe, and enjoyable as possible for you. Our first time customers continually become our long term customers time and time again, choosing us for all their maintenance needs.
We are experienced professionals. Licensed and certified utility contractors with many additional specialty certifications such as confined space training and hazmat training.
Services include excavation, including a plethora of odd jobs that co-inside with excavating residential basements. This would include such things as digging for retaining walls, sewer and water laterals, downspouts and drainage tiles, rough grading and topsoil, excavating driveways. In general, any dirt work that would be needed on your construction sites.
We also specialize in demolition work from entire buildings to just removal of old concrete and foundations, recycled concrete & asphalt, grading, ponds, land clearing, property maintenance, basement waterproofing, parking lots, pavement removal, private roads, storm water management, drainage, erosion control, tree falling, clearing & grubbing, and snow removal.

Our Story
The growth of the Vassh Family companies is a story of great insight and modification from times of its humble beginnings as a demolition and landscaping company through its success today as Racine's oldest totally family operated business doing excavating, landscaping and demolition. Vassh and Sons Excavating has been as family owned and operated business since 1952. Andrew Vassh Sr. started this company with just a Ford 8N tractor and 1 single axle dump truck. Vassh Sr. retired in 1966 and passed the torch to his sons Andrew Vassh and John Vassh Sr, who continued the business until 2004 till the torch was once again passed to John Vassh Sr.’s sons John Vassh Jr. and Randy Vassh, the third generation.
In 2008, John took the company one step further by applying for and being granted DBE status. This qualified the company to participate on Federally and Locally financed projects sponsored by Milwaukee County and Federal projects with the Wisconsin Unified Certification Program, which includes Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Dane County and the City of Madison.
John has watched the community’s expansion and change. Seeing this they felt a strong desire to help the community as a whole. Many of the community’s projects have been supplemented by donations of labor, money, engineering and design from the Vassh Companies. Quality and integrity are top priority on our jobs. One of the main and most important points we like to get across is that our jobs are always quality controlled by continually having at least one of the owners on site at all times.
We have worked for such prestigious companies as Bukacek construction, Nielson Building Systems, JLC Constructions, Milaeger's Landscape & Design, Custom Services II, SEGO Services, UW Madision, UW Parkside, and may others. Some of our major projects have been a 6,000 ft long, 12 ft high birm around the Case tractor plant, the Racine Pony Club’s 56 acre facility, demolition and rebuild of the Hwy. 20 Taco Bell restaurant, the 3 story phase 3 portion of the Parkview Assisted Living Center, Durand Avenue Auto Zone, 3 building demolition of Racine's first airport, a full city block basement, 13 ft. deep for the Grace Temple Youth Foundation building, the Grace Temple Church itself, as well as, numerous other churches. Building additions include the Ridgewood Hospital addition, DeCarlo’s Restaurant, Ametek Corporation, Norco Corporation, Kerry Savory, Inc., All Fasteners, Inc., and Right Engineering. With over a 70 years in business, this list could go on forever.
In 2015, the torch was passed on to the fourth generation. John Vassh Jr.'s daughter, Holly Vassh. Holly is the current owner operator today. When Holly took over, she added her own modern technology and ideas to an old fashioned company. To go with that, the name was changed to VTech Services LLC, short for Vassh Technologies Services. Still doing business as Vassh and Sons Services LLC.
